Mark Tao
Transitional Pastor
Mark Bio for RC3 Website:
Mark serves as River City’s Transitional Pastor, working closely with RC3’s staff and elder teams to provide team development, designing preaching and teaching series, and facilitating congregational discernment and self-study. As River City initiates a search for its next senior pastor, Mark walks alongside RC3 providing support and care as RC3 strengthens our identity and faithfully follows God’s call into our future.
Mark is passionate about resourcing the Church in healthy practices for self-sustainability, and nurturing commitments to racial righteousness and equity. Mark currently also serves as the Director of Conference Orientation and Expansion for the Southeast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) where he oversees Conference church planting projects and initiatives.
Mark received his M.Div. from North Park Theological Seminary, and recently completed an M.T.S. from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Theology and Ethics. Mark is married to Valeri, who works as the Director of Operations at a national nonprofit, and serves as the Director of Leadership Formation at New Community Covenant Church, Bronzeville. When Mark isn’t running his kids between sports practices and music lessons, you will find their whole family stopping by Chinatown for bubble tea and popcorn chicken, a favorite (and frequent) pastime!
