Rooted REPS

We will learn about the ILLINOIS FAIR TAX amendment from Brandon Marks, an organizer with Chicago Coalition for the Homeless.  If the referendum passes, the Fair Tax will bring in over $3.4 billion for our state, which could be used to fund public programs and schools, and create the affordable housing opportunities our communities need.  Come with your questions and ideas on how we can advocate for IL Fair Tax.  

In addition, we will spend some time in prayer for the election and for each other, and we will continue organizing for the Just Cause Ordinance for Eviction and for everyone to be counted in the 2020 Census.  

We also invite everyone to join us for #healingjourney, which is our new online offering of weekly questions, scripture, and prayers that you are encouraged to reflect on through art, song, verse, or any other form of creative expression.  We believe that by engaging in this #healingjourney together, we can open up new spaces for God to heal the deep places that are keeping us back. The healing we experience can help us find our voice; raising our voice will give us power in the fight for justice, and fighting for justice will bring further healing. There are no requirements or expectations on this journey - you can participate as much or as little as you like.
