We have TWO events this month and hope you will join us:

We will debrief the election, discuss the aftermath and its implications on our democracy, and decide how we want to respond as followers of Jesus.
We will also review the Treatment, not Trauma campaign (Order 2020-242) , which is a call for development of the Chicago Crisis Response and Care System within the Chicago Department of Public Health to be included in the 2021 city budget proposal. The new system would address mental health needs with appropriate intervention by trained behavioral health professionals, rather than law enforcement.

2. Defend our Democracy - Direct Action Training is on Sunday, November 22 from 12:00-1:30pm via Zoom (for password: email Marla, Sergio, Taylor, or Sabina. Thanks!)
With the results of the 2020 election being challenged and ignored by certain leaders, despite no evidence of voter fraud, the future of our democracy is at stake. What happens when the people have voted but are not being heard? What happens if those who were voted out of office refuse to relinquish power? We may need to raise our voices and show up in different ways.
Join us for a training on being an action marshall, police liaison, chant leader, and more. This information will be beneficial for everyone from the lead organizer to the casual participant at a protest, rally, or other form of direct action. With the proper training, we can defend our democracy and fight for justice while maintaining peace and safety among the crowds.
